Jewel Mlnarik

Session Speaker

If someone would have told me I could start my startup on WordPress 7 years ago, I would have laughed. Then, I helped launch TravelOregon using WordPress and my attitude shifted. I since cofounded Workfrom, which sprouted out of a Startup Weekend. We had an early decision to make: stick with WordPress or build our own? Over the past 4 years, I’ve worked with several more startups — all leveraging WordPress in some unique and very common ways. I love cross-pollinating ideas and lessons across disparate communities.

Jocelyn Mozak

Owner, Web Designer, Mom and WordCamp Speaker

Born and raised on the East Coast, Jocelyn attended Cornell University, graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree. She continued on to Stanford University, where she obtained her Master’s in Electrical Engineering.

While her education in engineering certainly refined her technical and analytical skills, it is her passion for what she does that makes her an outstanding WordPress web designer. She is an expert in thinking outside the box and filtering out the key points amidst all the noise.

Jocelyn loves to joke: I am a CSS Goddess with a Magic Wand. Just send me your issue and “poof” it’s fixed!

In her ‘off time’ you can find her helping her sons with their homework, scouting, school field trips and all activities involving kids, animals and husband!

Jocelyn loves life, family, friends and running my business with her team!

I taught myself how to create and manage a successful blog and love sharing what I learn with others – my favorite topics are blog monetization, SEO for beginners, and how not to lose your mind when your site goes down. I’m a Housewives, Marvel Comics, Star Wars, and Star Trek lover who wants to work from home with her dogs and blog.

Mary Ann Aschenbrenner

Lightning Talk Speaker

I’m a native Oregonian, artist entrepreneur, community volunteer, and president of Waterlink Web. The company slogan, “connecting your customers with you”, means each site I build is original, designed to meet your business needs, and is fully accessible.

In 2012 I build my first website — for an apiary my husband and I own — and was hooked. That same year I entered a specialized computer program at Portland Community College. A year and one-half later I completed the program, earning a certificate in Website Development and Design.

In 2014 I launched Waterlink Web. I love the process of helping businesses, nonprofits, online educators, and other entrepreneurs succeed with custom websites built specifically for them. We are located in St. Johns, Portland’s northern neighborhood. The office is partly solar-powered and on a Gold Certified Backyard Habitat property.

I help organize the Portland WordPress MeetUp events. As part of the WordPress community I gladly share techniques for protecting your website from hackers, Search Engine Optimization, and more. I also volunteer on the board of the St. Johns Boosters and Friends of Pier park, whose websites I built and maintain.
